Free Ipod Movie Converter
Editors' rating: 6.7 Good
Free iPod Movie Converter: The good: The Blue Raven MediaMate 7000 is an affordable PVP with a giant screen, built-in speakers, replaceable battery, above-average sound quality, built-in DVR, and support for a wide spectrum of video file formats. The bad: MediaMate is one of the bulkiest PVP devices we've seen. Its resolution is grainy, the screen brightness is not adjustable, and the button layout is a little awkward. Files must be added using drag-and-drop transfer, with no support for DRM-protected media. The bottom line: Blue Raven's MediaMate is a Texas-size product with a down-to-earth price. Just remember, bigger isn't always better. CNET editor's review

A Fool's Utopia 05.20.07: TV's #1 Murderer -- The Hiatus
Free iPod Movie Converter: This week in one man's utopia: Sequels 20 years later, things that make me want to smoke, proof that Spider-Man 3 sucked and the conspiracy against Jericho continues! Now, as loyal zombies of the small screen we all know that at some point the current season is going to come to an end and we have to wallow in the pig leftovers that are reruns and "new summer shows" all summer before our beloved TV lineups come back in the fall. There is a recent trend that disturbs me. Okay, all recent trends disturb me because I am old and set in my ways. But this one should disturb you too. I am, of course, discussing the TV hiatus. This is a rather new phenomenon in TV. The networks will try to convince you that they are nodding their head back to the traditional "golden age" of TV where you would get weeks and weeks of original programming, some reruns during the holiday season, then continuous original episodes until the end of May.
