Meizu M6se Mini Media Player
Ipod Nano Movies: Should your requirements in an media player include thin and stylish, competitive specs, large capacity, a decent price and not an iPod then you may have found your perfect solution. Meizu's M6se is only 7mm thick (only half a mm more than the iPod nano), has an impressive 8GB Flash capacity and runs for only $130. It sports a nice 2.41″ QVGA display screen and supports playback of MP3, WAV, OGG audio and MPEG4, MPEG2, WMV9, H.263/264, and RM(VB) and video. You can also use a TV out jack to push those movies to your television at a 720 x 480 resolution. The battery will support up to 30 hours of music playback or 5 hours of video. The Meizu M6se also has a built-in FM tuner.Unfortunately we're going to have to wait a little while for this one since they aren't expecting to start shipping until Q4 of this year, but hopefully in time for the holiday season.
Shure SE310 Sound Isolating Earphones
Ipod Nano Movies: Who says that portable audio has to be inferior to the soundscape we can get with large speakers and expensive electronics in our living room or den? As more and more audiophiles and music fans discover the convenience of transportable sound systems, the consumer electronics industry has risen to the challenge by providing a wealth of options for high quality portable sound... but it hasn't always been this way. As a long-time music lover, I have been amazed at the inferior quality of the headphones or earbuds that ship with virtually all of the major portable electronic devices. And if you recall the 90s as vividly as I do, we audiophiles were encouraged to use enormous over-the-ear headphones ("cans" to you studio types) if we had any hope of getting a full sound and ample bass response.
New songs, privacy fears
Ipod Nano Movies: SAN JOSE, Calif. - Apple Inc.'s recent rollout of songs without copy-protection software at its iTunes Store has given consumers new flexibility, but questions have emerged over the company's inclusion of personal data in purchased music tracks. Are the songs that are being billed as free of so-called digital-rights-management technology really "DRM-free," or are there still strings attached? The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a consumer watchdog, said the embedded user information in the purchased track raised privacy issues.
Apple declined to comment.
The trendsetting company based in Cupertino, Calif., always has embedded user information - a user name and e-mail - into its tracks. But until the market-leading iTunes Store began offering DRM-free music last week, no one raised much of a ruckus.
