Clash TV Launches the First iPod-Ready Cult Movie Channel
Clash TV launches as the place for classic cult movies. Featuring ipod ready full length downloads of movies such as Nigh of the Living Dead, Clash may be the Mystery Science Theatre of a new generation.
DeSoto Entertainment Inc., an Orlando [Florida based distribution company, has launched the first and only podcasting network to showcase feature-length vintage content. Culling from a library of cult-classic “B†movies and held together with a short-skirted hostess named Zoe Cosmo, Clash TV fills the niche that Vampira, Elvira and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 held in decades past.
DeSoto Entertainment believes that the time is right for a channel like Clash. With home internet speeds finally great enough to pull down movies in close to real-time, and seeing the proliferation of mobile media device like the video iPod, DeSoto looked for a niche that wasn’t currently being served. They found their inspiration in the science fiction and horror of the 1950’s and 1960’s, a market that hadn’t seen serious attention since Mystery Science Theatre ended production nearly a decade earlier.
